“In the right place at the right time”.
I’m a great believer that this is so true and you never know who you are going to meet. Whilst working on Sudan Archives on Monday 28th November a tour manger and a local group were on a site visit to The Electric Ballroom, Camden. They asked about a balloon drop for their gig on Saturday 3rd December. A quote was given within the hour. I did not know the budget so over the next few day emails were pinged back and forth and a deal was struck. Just one net holding over 75 36″, 24″ and 16″ balloons.
Arrived on site on Saturday 3rd and installed the drop by 12 noon. They also needed a banner hanging outside the venue. I had all my rigging equipment with me so I was happy to assist. It’s team work. I then had to move the drop towards the stage as it was blocking the view from the balcony. I never see this as a problem as I was in site for the duration. The entire team were a delight to work with.

Whilst I had some down time towards the late afternoon I was approached by the owner of the venue who seemed very impressed of how I operated and thanked me for assisting with the banner outside the venue.

The next thing I know is she is buying me a coffee and enquiring about a large drop for New Years Eve
A quick discussion about what was required and a quote given. Ill keep you all posted
